Uses & Dilution

Hydrochloric Acid 31% can be diluted with clean water, with a recommended dilution ratio of up to 8 parts clean water. However, for optimal results, it is advisable to conduct a small-scale test on a discreet surface area to determine the most suitable dilution level. The specific dilution required may vary depending on the surface type and the extent of contamination.

Hydrochloric Acid

Hydrochloric Acid 31% is a highly effective solution designed for the rapid and efficient removal of concrete, mortar, unwanted cement rendering, plaster, and the cleaning of various surfaces such as floors, lime-coated retaining tanks, water pipes, and water metering equipment. It also proves to be economically advantageous for the cleaning of cement machinery and ready-mix concrete plants.

Direction of Use

Hydrochloric Acid can be applied using various methods, including brushing, soaking, or spray units. When dealing with lime mortar-coated brickwork, a solution consisting of 4 parts water and 1 part Hydrochloric Acid can be brushed or sprayed onto the surface. It is essential to agitate the surface frequently using a stiff brush and then thoroughly rinse it with a brush and clean water. For surfaces like cement-coated scaffolding, immerse clips, bolts, etc., in a steel tank containing neat Hydrochloric Acid for a maximum of 1 hours. Subsequently, rinse with clean water, allow to dry, and apply a protective coating of oil or grease. In the case of lime-encrusted water metering equipment, water pipelines, and water storage tanks used in hot water systems, a similar approach as that for cement-coated scaffolding clips can be followed.

Safety Notice:

Avoid using Hydrochloric Acid on painted enamel, stainless steel, decorative bars, or aluminum surfaces, as it may cause damage.

Be cautious about potential staining caused by fumes emitted by the product on certain surfaces. Protect Hydrochloric Acid from exposure to frost to maintain its effectiveness and stability.

Hydrochloric Acid is a versatile and reliable solution for a wide range of cleaning and descaling applications in the construction and industrial sectors. Always prioritize safety measures and test on a small area before full-scale application for the best results.
